Current Status

Over 100 children have been placed in school and some are provided with food through a lunch scheme.
A social worker is employed to visit the families of the children, and encourage them to keep the boys at home, instead of on the streets. We work closely with the Children’s department.
The day center caters for between 20-30 children daily, and up to 100+ during school holidays who receive food, washing facilities, Bible input, literacy and maths classes, and school tuition. We provide lunches in school for 38 children daily.
Currently 1 boy is resident in the hostel during school term, with another 5 coming during the holiday period.
We also support 5 children in foster care and numerous others at home with parents or relatives.
The centre employs 7 permanent staff, and 5 non permanent staff, doing a variety of jobs such as counselling, cooking, teaching, training and care work.
The project is seeking to become more self sustaining through farming, (producing food both to sell and for consumption), chicken and rabbit rearing, and brick making.
Supporting grandparents and poor mothers with income generating projects. Some grand parents have been left with up to 9 orphaned or abandoned children.
